    ST. PAUL - Ellen Blacklock unleashed the best throw of her career in earning a trip to the MSHSL Class AA Track and Field Championships last Friday.

    The Winona High senior has now put herself among the best in the state. Her 135-foot, 10-inch mark – three feet further than her previous best - is the fourth best throw in the state.

    ST. PAUL - Taylor Gibson, Brielle Bierman and Katie Shepardson should have their sights set high heading into the MSHSL Track and Field Championships.

    The La Crescent trio has some of the best times in the state heading into the Class A meet Friday and Saturday at Hamline University. The Class A meet begins at 3:30 p.m. Class AA begins at 9 a.m.

    Before the Indiana Pacers-Miami Heat series started, I said the Eastern Conference Finals would be won by the Pacers in six games.

    I should have been right. The first game of this series should have been Indiana’s.
