The 38-year-old Moss still has itch to play

It looks as though Reggie Wayne is not in the Green Bay Packers future, unless he plays them in the Super Bowl.

Wayne was rumored to be talking with Green Bay today, and his signing a real possibility if Jordy Nelson’s MRI comes back as what most believe is a torn ACL.

The 36-year-old, Wayne, however, has reached an agreement with the New England Patriots.

That leaves James Jones’ ability – or lackthereof – to stay with the New York Giants as the Packers next option. Jones, who was cut a season after signing a three-year deal with the Oakland Raiders, is trying to make the Giants’ 53-man roster.

If that doesn’t happen, the Packers are likely to scoop up the 31-year-old, who spent his first seven season with Green Bay, before heading to Oakland.

Jones, however, may not be the last resort. Randy Moss is also looking to get back into the NFL. Moss is 38, and has been out of the NFL for two seasons.

Moss works as an analyst for Fox and said during the pregame show Sunday that he still wants to play.

“I have been retired for the last two years, but you never know,” Moss said. “I don’t know. The sky’s the limit for me … So we’ll just have to wait and see.”
