It looks as though Wisconsin Badgers men's basketball coach Greg Gard is going to ease La Crosse native and freshman Kobe King into the lineup.

The Badgers opened the season with a pair of blowout victories over South Carolina State and Yale.

In his first-ever game, King, came off the bench Friday and scored six points on 3-of-6 shooting. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound Central High School graduate also grabbed three rebounds in 18 minutes — the most of anyone on the bench.

Off the bench in Game 2 on Sunday, King was again 3-for-6 and scored seven points. He played 13 minutes. Two other Badgers played more off the bench in that one.

King was 0-for-2 from beyond the arc in both contests.
