If there’s one thing I love about baseball, it’s listening to Bob Uecker talking about everything but baseball during a Milwaukee Brewers game.

And maybe he sprinkles in some in-game action, but I simply enjoy his humor and his stories, because 162 games is just a lot of the same to me when it comes to broadcasts.

Peyton Manning this, Seattle defense that, when you’re from the Midwest, it really doesn’t matter.

What matters heading into Super Bowl XLVIII is the spread. The drinks. The food. The company.

Some Wisconsin diehards will root for Seattle QB Russell Wilson or Denver RB Montee Ball, but when it’s all said and done, all anyone wants is one last chicken wing before heading home after having watched something that resembles a competitive game with a lot of scoring.

    That’s not going to happen.

The NFL will be on CBS on Thursdays for the first half of next season.

No report how much CBS outbid NBC, ABC, Fox and Turner for the rights, but you can bet it was a lot.

A few weeks ago, all the talk with the Sochi Winter Olympic Games was related to terrorist threats.

Today, the Games began and most of the reports out there border on the ridiculous that have nothing to do with world’s best of the best at sledding, skiing and ice skating.

Instead, reports coming out are how athletes aren’t getting extra pillows, soap, yogurt ... . Other reports state terrorists could be hiding explosives onboard flights in tubes of toothpaste. And then the laws against ‘gay propaganda.’
